RFID Server

Radio-Frequency Identification, RFID, is a method of storing and retrieving data using chips which are attached to, or built into, a product, animal or person. RFID chips contain receivers for radio signals sent from a RFID transceiver. Passive chips require no power source, whereas active chips do.

Known uses for RFID include tracking, logistics, clothes, passports, tickets, container terminals, antitheft systems, personnel access control and evacuation systems, toll-road passes and animal identification.

Supermarkets have worked consciously to make use of this technology which has great potential for tracking goods for logistics, supply chain management and inventory control.
